ON THE WATER

The Ashland shoreline and surrounding waterways provide plenty of opportunities to enjoy the water. Kayaking, fishing, and lakeside walks are popular ways to experience Lake Superior and nearby lakes. Calm spots and scenic views make it easy to spend time outdoors, whether looking for adventure or a peaceful day by the water.

WATER OPPORTUNITIES

  • Bayview Park:

    • Bayview Park sits along the shore of Lake Superior’s Chequamegon Bay and offers a relaxing spot to enjoy the water. Visitors can fish, explore the playground, or cool off at the lion-shaped fountain. A pavilion provides shaded seating, and the Ashland Breakwater Lighthouse can be seen from the park. Restrooms and parking are available.

  • Maslowski Beach:

    • Maslowski Beach includes three connected beaches along Highway 2, known for their shallow and typically warmer water. The area offers a playground, volleyball courts, picnic tables, benches, and a pavilion. An artesian well on site provides clean drinking water. ​​​​

  • Boat Landings on Lake Superior:

    • Second Landing Water Access: 55971 Reykdal Rd, Ashland, WI 54806

    • Kreher Park Boat Landing: From the intersection of US Highway 2 and State Highway 13 South, travel east for 3 blocks. Turn left on Prentice Avenue.

WATERFALLS

  • Morgan Falls:

    • Morgan Falls features a 1.6-mile trail that winds through a lush forest of pine, maple, and birch. The trail leads to a scenic cascading waterfall that flows over a smooth rock face, surrounded by moss and ferns. It’s a peaceful, family-friendly hike that shares the same starting point as the St. Peter’s Dome Trail.
