WATERFALLS
Black River Falls
Black River Falls features five waterfalls: Great Conglomerate, Potawatomi, Gorge, Sandstone, and Rainbow Falls. Each waterfall has its own unique features and character.
The falls are located along the Black River Parkway, with parking areas for each located on the right-hand side of the road. The parkway ends at Black River Harbor, where visitors can access additional hiking trails, picnic areas, and a beach.

Copper Falls State Park
Copper Falls State Park features several trails that lead visitors around the waterfalls and through scenic overlooks. Enjoy views of ancient lava flows, deep gorges, and spectacular waterfalls throughout the park. In addition to hiking, the park offers three mountain bike trails. A parking fee is required.

Gabbro Falls
Located at the base of Black River Basin Ski Area (formerly Blackjack), Gabbro Falls is a beautiful waterfall surrounded by largely wild, natural scenery. Despite its remote feel, it is just a short walk from parking. The trail to the falls may be overgrown in places.

Directions: Once you arrive at Black River Basin, cross over the bridge, then turn around and park on the right side of the bridge. A trail runs alongside the river—follow it to reach the falls.

Interstate Falls
Interstate Falls is a 19-foot waterfall located on the Montreal River, along the border between Wisconsin and Michigan. A 0.3-mile easy trail through a hardwood-hemlock forest leads to the falls. At the end of the trail, there are several overlooks and viewing areas.

Powderhorn Falls is a small waterfall located near Big Powderhorn Mountain. The trail begins off Powderhorn Road and leads to the top of the falls. Visitors can explore the surrounding river area, fish near the waterfall, or use the wooden swing located nearby.

Directions: The trailhead is located on Powderhorn Road, just before the Powdermill Creek Inn. Look for a small white sign in the trees. If you reach the large curve in the road, you have gone too far.

Saxon Falls
Saxon Falls is located a few miles from Superior Falls and about 10 miles from Ironwood. The trail to the falls begins by crossing the river on top of diversion pipes. After crossing, the trail splits, offering routes to either the upper or lower falls.
Note: Access to Saxon Falls is sometimes closed due to maintenance work by the Xcel Energy Company.​
