Little Girl’s Point County Park:

A well-maintained county park and beach stretching over half a mile along Lake Superior. Popular with rock pickers and agate hunters, it offers opportunities for swimming, paddling, and floating. Visitors can enjoy views of the Apostle Islands to the northwest and the Porcupine Mountains to the northeast. Amenities include a boat launch, two pavilions, picnic tables, grills, restrooms, and campsites.

Saxon Harbor:

Located just across the Michigan–Wisconsin border, five miles west of Little Girl’s Point, Saxon Harbor features a wide sandy beach and a newly remodeled boat harbor and campground. A boat launch provides access to Lake Superior for fishing and paddling.

Located in Hurley, WI, the Gile Flowage offers excellent opportunities for fishing—featuring musky, panfish, smallmouth bass, northern pike, and walleye. It’s also a great place for kayaking, canoeing, or stand-up paddleboarding, with many islands to explore. Public boat landings are available around the lake, with the main launch at Gile Park, which also includes a small beach, playground, pavilion, and restrooms.

North of Ironwood and on the way to Little Girl’s Point, Lost Lake is a small inland lake with a beach area, large dock, and non-motorized boat launch. Amenities include restrooms and a large pavilion, making it a quiet spot for swimming, paddling, and picnicking.

The largest inland lake in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Lake Gogebic lies within the Ottawa National Forest near Marenisco, MI. Known for year-round fishing, the lake supports walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, and whitefish. The main launch site is at Lake Gogebic State Park and features a boat launch, picnic shelter, restrooms, swimming beach, playground, and a designated metal detecting area.
