ICE FISHING
Ice fishing in the Mercer area, including the Turtle Flambeau Flowage, is typically available from early December through March. Anglers can target musky, walleye, panfish, and other species. The frozen waters are accessible by vehicle or snowmobile, but always check local ice conditions for safety before heading out.
SNOWMOBILING
Mercer is at the heart of the “Snow Capital of Wisconsin,” with over 250 miles of groomed trails winding through southern Iron County. Riders can explore everything from scenic forest routes and former railroad grades to wide-open trails across the frozen Turtle Flambeau Flowage. With its variety of terrain and reliable snow, Mercer offers some of the best snowmobiling in the Northwoods.
